I've always been of the opinion that all eyes should be pointing AWAY from Manila. The good stuff is definitely out of the capital!
the marcoses domain is in ilocos norte. vigan is run by another set of politicians. and chavit singson's baluarte is located there. there are plenty of beautiful destinations outside the city
